Hunting season approaches.

I finally found the place so I could change the language on the dash board here in my blog, I want to be sure that I understand what all things means in here. I´m rather good in english but computer words is something I barley understands in swedish. But to my surprise I noticed that most of the computer words we use actually are the original english words 🙂 🙂 🙂 So not much help at all  in changing the language  🙂 Well, I´ll figure out things sooner or later anyway.

The moose hunt starts here in southern Sweden on Monday morning. That means that there will be more traffic in the early morning when I go to work than there is in the afternoon when I´m driving home again. There will also most likely be lots of panicking moose, deers and wild hogs running around on the roads too. Not a fun situation to drive in when it is totally dark outside too.

I will keep out of the forest before the hunting period starts and until it´s over in this neighborhood. So until then You´ll mostly see autumn color photos here.

But I´m not complaining about the hunt itself. Sweden is said to have more moose than any other country in comparison to its size. We have around 400 000 moose here in the summer and up to 100 000 is shot every year. If we didn´t have this hunting season they would soon eat all there is to eat and most of them would soon starve to death and/or get nasty diseases.

As I said, most hunters are up early and are on their places when the sun goes up, but not here in the village. They are usually quite late and take their cars as close as possible to the place they are going to stay at 🙂 I don´t think that they really care if they get a moose or not. Mostly these people just love being out in to the nature and afterwards they sit in an old caravan telling each other about  the big animals they almost shot 🙂 🙂

If it was the hunting itself they liked most there´s plenty of other things allowed now too, like the different deers we have and naturally the wild hogs. But it is the moose that is important, we do call it “the king of the forest” here in this country.

I´m having a fire in the stove and my cup of tea has turned cold so I´ll have to make a new pot now. It´s SciFi night on channel six, but I´ll get to bed rather early today, because I will be busy tomorrow. So most likely I´ll post my blog later than usual on a Saturday tomorrow. But since most of You that reads this little blog of mine lives on the American continent it might be ready when You get up in the morning. I´at least six hours before you in time 🙂
