And it continues.

It is a beautiful morning and a very quiet one too. Just a few birds continue their singing now but more and more cranes and geese can be heard instead. Still most people have their vacations so almost no traffic can be heard from the big road either but when a lorry passes it sounds so close, just because no other vehicles is there to make more sounds.

Sunrise this morning.

Some grasses gets a silvery shine from the morning dew.

Sune still has problems with his stomach and I’ve called the vet. It seems I have given him the right kind of food but in wrong proportions and since he obviously have a sensitive stomach that’s enough to keep it unstable. From now on he’ll get 75% carbon hydrates and 25% proteins and I’ll give him food four times a day instead of three as I have done so far. If this works I’ll most probably start doing his food myself and if it doesn’t get too expensive I’ll make the food for all dogs in the future.

I’ve planted some of my sowing’sΒ this morning, I know one shouldn’t do that when the day will become sunny and warm but I have placed covers over them and watered a lot. I’ll keep an eye on them all day so they won’t dry out. Sune is a keen gardener as well πŸ™‚ As soon as he sees me planting and digging he run over to me to give me a paw. He moves the plants from their pots and dig huge holes to plant them in πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ But he also gets some help from Orvar, he is the one fertilizing everything here when it’s new πŸ™‚ Thankfully Sune doesn’t understand how to move the protection over the plants and Orvars aim has always been rather bad πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Nova can jump surprisingly high. Soap bubbles are fun to chase πŸ™‚

But foot balls are even more fun πŸ™‚

The Olympic Games has finally started and it started well for us. The swedish women’s football team (Soccer for You Americans) won over South Africa with 4-1. But it could just as well have become 8-1 πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ The South African team didn’t have anything that looked like a defense the first 25 minutes πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ But I have to admit that the South African goal was amazing! For once the Olympics takes place when I’m at vacation and on a time zone next to us πŸ™‚ Can’t remember if that ever has happened before πŸ™‚ Swedish Television will have both their TV channels showing this as well as four channels on the internet. There’s no chance in h… to miss anything this time πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I think I’ll take a nap after this, all the others already are. After that I’ll get out on the web to see if I can find a wildlife camera. I’m pretty sure it was a badger walking just outside my fence this morning but since I have a huge hedge and it grows high weeds outside it I can’t be sure. So I think I’ll buy one of those cameras when my tax refund comes πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

  1. those bubble catching photos are amazing!! I’m so sorry to hear Sune’s belly is still troubling him, poor little guy.Our daughter tried making her own dog food for a while , the dogs loved it but she became bored with doing it and slowly slipped back to buying ready made dog food.I think it would be healthier to make your own.The strangest thing is, it was our youngest daughter and she does not cook for herself but cooked for her dogs, Beautiful photos, the spider web photos are always so beautiful,

    • Hi Laurie!
You should have seen those photos I didn’t manage to take πŸ™‚ It is strange but when I don’t have the camera they can do the most fantastic things, but as soon as they see the camera nothing happens at all πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I might be forced to make at least Sune’s food myself, those diet foods are nasty expensive. But if I must make his food I most likely will make it for all of them. Then I’ll buy large packages of fish, minced meat and rice and that’s much cheaper. What don’t we do for our pets πŸ™‚

Finally those wheel shaped webs have started to turn up again πŸ™‚

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  2. The misty morning photos are great, and loved the huge spider wheel web. Now bubble chasing has got to be the best fun on a summer’s day. Loved how Sune is giving you a helping paw in the garden; Orvar’s fertilization assistance also notable! Gosh, I hope little Sune’s tummy problems settle down soon, that is tough. I read in today’s paper that there is going to be unprecedented Olympic coverage. US coverage tends to be highly edited. I would rather just watch the events without all the droning commentary. I forgot to tell you, Christer, last week was the last show of Eureka. We are sorry to see this series end. Enjoy your football!

    • Hi Robin!

I think I’m the one enjoying those bubbles most of us all πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Things will get so much easier when I get help in the garden, soon I won’t have anything left πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Our commentators are rather good actually, I have to admit that I almost never get annoyed at them and I’m usually easily annoyed when it comes to much on tv πŸ™‚ :-)Thankfully we don’t have commercials on any of those channels πŸ™‚

To bad they put down that show! I really like it! They are showing re-runs of the third season now and since we never saw the entire season they’ll continue with the rest of that and then they’ll start showing the last season. I think I’ll buy all episodes on DVD.

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  3. Hi Christer,

I’m pleased to see that someone else uses bubbles as a dog toy. Rocky can’t be bothered with them but my last dog, Tegan, would chase those things all day. It was especially fun on a windy day.

Beautiful photos today. Very dramatic sunrise. I can’t pick a favorite.

Today dawned grey and cool. It’s supposed to rain sometime but hasn’t yet. The rest of the week is supposed to be like this. As long as it’s cool, I won’t mind. We do need some rain.

Enjoy your nap and the Olympics.

    • Hi Caryn!
I think I’m the one most amused by those bubbles πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ But especially Nova tends to chase them πŸ™‚

I think my favorite photo today is the fifth one.

We’ll have summer for two more days and then it will start to rain again they say. But they are usually never right so who knows, we might get summer next week too πŸ™‚

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

      Christer.

  5. Christer,
I loved you rumoring photos today. They are gorgeous.

Gracie will watch bubbles but can’t be bothered chasing them. She loves to fetch but you can’t fetch a bubble. I can hear her playing outside with her squeaky toys so I’ll go out an we’ll play fetch.

Gracie’s food is really expensive because all the ingredients are natural and there is no filler. My other dogs ate cans and dry food from the supermarket, but I decided to try better food with Gracie as she came with similar cans of expensive food from the breeder. I swear if I put her can of turducken over toast, anybody would eat it.

    • Hi Kat!
My old boys are just like Gracie, They tried one time each and when they caught it they got a funny taste in their mouths πŸ™‚ but they are fun to look at πŸ™‚ Squeaky toys however scares them to death! They seem to believe that they are hurting another animal and looks in fear to what they have done πŸ™‚

My dogs food are also only natural ingredients but that doesn’t seem to help every time. I rarely give them canned food though, sometimes as a treat though. Some dog food actually smells wonderful, the one I have here smells much like bacon πŸ™‚

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  6. hi christer! if i blew bubbles for teddy she would probably just give me a strange look. chow chows don’t do much playing once they grow up. we have very nasty storm warnings here. the worst in the entire country. thye say we could get a tornado. i sure hope not! i hope sune’s tummy gets better soon. are you giving her white rice? brown rice is not good for dogs as they have trouble digesting it. i can’t wait to watch the olympics too! joyce

    • Hi Joyce!
Isn’t chows originally guarding or watch dogs? I guess that doesn’t give much time for playing as grown ups then. Too much to check during the day I guess.

I really hope You won’t get a tornado! We’ve had several small ones (we call them tromber) but we’ve had no damages though. They had a big one in Poland! Lots of damages there though. They rarely occur on this side of the ocean.

I am a bit irritated that his stomach still isn’t good but it is probably my fault. I gave too much too seldom and in wrong proportions, at least I had the ingredients right πŸ™‚

It’s so fun that I finally have vacation during a big part of the Olympics πŸ™‚

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

    • Hi Jim!

I’m so glad I find a web looking like that, they usually never appear until autumn arrives.

They do have fun while playing but it was a bit too hot for them today.

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  7. oh christer….a slow cooker would be perfect for you! even if you forget about it, it really doesn’t matter. plus, you can use it to cook while you sleep. you would just have to keep it up high away from the pups so they wouldn’t help themselves. you also can put a dish together the night before, pop it in the slow cooker before you leave for work, and when you get home dinner is ready. you should look into it!

    • Joyce!
I’ll start with the rice, I see I forgot that last time πŸ™‚ I use a white sticky rice we call Jasmine rice, love it myself actually πŸ™‚

Yes I do like the idea with a slow cooker πŸ™‚ FalkΓΆping is actually an official Cittaslow, a town trying to avoid anything close to fast food πŸ™‚ So I’ll definitely take a better look at those slow cookers I found the other day!

      Christer.

    • Hi Z&M!
It is irritating and it is probably my fault. I’ve given him the right things but in wrong proportions I’m afraid and to big portions as well too seldom. But I hope I’ve fixed that now anyway.

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  8. It looks like you all are having a lot of fun on your vacation! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
So you are thinking of making dog food at home? for all of them? Wow. that’s cool. I’m sure it will be a lot of work and kind of expensive.
I feed all of mine the same food except I try to feed Ruby a lower fat food (but sometimes she eats the regular). But OF COURSE the one who has the skin issues etc. is Blue. So I buy him special food (and it’s expensive) and he eats A LOT! Darn it, why couldn’t it have been one of the teeny tiny ones if it had to be any of them?! Oh well, he’s worth it. πŸ˜€

    • Hi Cindi!
I really can’t complain even though the weather has been a bit sad most of the time πŸ™‚

I have calculate some about how much it would cost making it myself and It won’t be that expensive to be honest.First of all I will be making it on my fire heated stove most part of the year and that fire will burn anyway. I’ll buy big packs of everything wich will make it cheaper/ kg (pond) what ever it might be I buy. Of course I’ll ask the vet what I really need to put in to make it fully nutritionally. 75% should be carbon-hydroxide and 25% proteins and then I’ll have to ad some vegetables too I guess. But First we’ll see if this helps him at all πŸ™‚

Isn’t that always the case, if anyone of them need special food it is always!! the biggest one πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  9. Christer, what a surprise after reading yesterday’s post to see that summer has decided to stay awhile so you can at least enjoy some while on your vacation. I really have fun blowing soap bubbles and our grandson loves to do it now too. The dogs seem to have lots of fun chasing them and tiring poor Sune out. The spider web was m favorite shot today.

    • Hi Beatrice!
Yes we are all surprised πŸ™‚ We’ll have today too and then it’ll turn again.

I have always loved soap bubbles and I think I have more fun than the dogs do πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I was lucky to find that web, it almost was invisible when I passed it πŸ™‚

      Have a great day!
      Christer.
