Finally we know who to blame :-)

This duck came floating by this morning πŸ™‚

I’m having a fire in the stove for the first time this autumn and it feels so nice πŸ™‚ The humidity in the chimney is so high after this summer that it will take lots of days to make everything work as it should. There is a draft in there but it is weak and it will stay that way until it’s all dried out. But it doesn’t matter really since I can’t have the fire burning too good until the repairs I’ve done has dried up as well.

It’s raining a lot now and has all day, they called it showers in the weather predictions so I’m waiting for this to end so that another shower gets a chance to start before the low pressure is gone again πŸ™‚ But now we all know why it rains as much as it does, it is the CIA’s fault πŸ™‚ It is a local politician that claims that both the CIA and NSA is controlling the weather all over the world and that at least our government helps them πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

According to her those white streaks that we always can see after aircrafts in the air ( the exhaust fumes) are chemical and biological substances that they let out from the planes while flying, it could also be viruses in those tubes πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ She says that it is nice for powerful organizations to be able to control the weather πŸ™‚ Personally I wish they could have placed all the rain somewhere it was needed and not in a country that already has more water than it needs πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

The politicians in her party that sits in the parliament feels that we have enough problems as it is so we really don’t need to imagine any more πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ As You all must know by now I love these crack pot ideas πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ So my last words in today’s post will be:

Damn You CIA and NSA! Damn You for destroying my summer πŸ™‚

Light bulbs.

From now on I can see so many stars in the sky clear nights πŸ™‚ I couls see even more in the original photograph before I made it small so I could have it here in my blog. Some of those stars aren’t stars actually, they are gigantic galaxies far far away.

I was supposed to check some facts yesterday but got out of track when I found out my blog friend had passed away. So I’ll save that one for another day. We Β haven’t had any frost yet even if it has been close, clouds has come and stopped it during the night, so I haven’t had to scrape any windows again πŸ™‚

Since it’s dark in the morning when I go to work I’ve noticed that some light bulbs are broken and need to be replaced. The common light bulb is now forbidden in the EU, an insane decision to be honest but I won’t get in to that today, I have a tendency to become very angry when just thinking of this stupid law! So now we must buy dangerous low energy lamps instead.

They are said to last much longer than an ordinary light bulb and that’s just a lie. They break down just as often to be honest and they still cost a small fortune to buy if one wants to replace at the light bulbs at the same time. It takes for ever for them to shine bright as well. It feels like living in land of twilight half the morning and when they finally shine as bright as they should it’s time to go to work πŸ™‚

But there is one that I actually like, it has a light sensor in it so it turns on as soon as it is needed. Those are perfect to have by the garage, dog yard and the doors on our homes, hard to find though. It is time to make a pot of tea and I think I’ll have a couple digestives with some cheese on today. Only one day left until I have a fire in the stove and can turn off the radiators I need to have on at the moment πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

A dear blog friend is gone.

Isn’t it strange how people we never know in any other way than through blogs can become good friends? Yesterday I lost one of those friends, Victor who wrote Cat in the bag. He found my blog early one and always left a comment but suddenly some days ago I never got any more. I understood something was wrong and yesterday I read in his wifes blog, Zoolatry, that he had fallen and injured his head badly and now he has left us. I will miss him even though we never met.

My thoughts are with his family.

Christer.

Chilly.

My brain is blank once again even if I really had some things I wanted to write about today. But I need to do some research to check if I actually know the correct things before I write about them πŸ™‚ I’ll try to do that tomorrow on my blog free day.

I looked up in to the sky too see what direction the clouds flew and this dart showed the way πŸ™‚

The rain has been pouring down big parts of the day but for once the sun broke through the clouds on my way home, usually it the other way around πŸ™‚ We were hit by one shower half way home though but I didn’t mind nor did my dogs or Bertil. The air is chilly though and it feels like we’ll have frost tonight. I think it was this coming night they predict frost all over this country.

A Wood Nymph (Bog Lady) looks like a very beautiful woman, but when she turns her back to You she looks like a tree or a tree stump. Like the one in this photograph perhaps πŸ™‚

Sweden is Europe’s fifth biggest country and it is 1570 km long ( that would be around 975 miles long) but only around 500km ( 311 miles) wide. So the climate varies very much from south to north and during summer they have daylight 24/7 during some months in the far north but no daylight at all during winter. 85% of the population lives in cities and towns and they believe that even more will in the future. Well I won’t complain, more space for me out here πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Well I already have lots of space to be honest since we’re only nine million people living here( around 10% of that are first, second or third generation of immigrants. Yes they do statistics on that and as it turned out I’m one of those πŸ™‚ ). Still, surveys shows that most swedes dream of living in a red cottage in the countryside but at the same time surveys show that lots of people are afraid of the wild nature πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I guess they have listened to too many myths about how dangerous wolves, bears and badgers are. Bears are dangerous, most of then never comes close to any towns or cities though but one should consider oneself lucky if one get the chance to see a wolf, at least this far south.

It’s time to make something to eat and a pot of tea. I’ll try to calm down Sune and Nova too, soon they break something and I have no wish to start cleaning up their mess πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

It’s something with Mondays.

Best of friends.

I don’t know what it is but time just flies when I come home after work! I never get anything done and suddenly it’s time to go to bed again. It doesn’t help to have cats either πŸ™‚ Teodor, the nice one? decided he wanted to sit by the window on the upper floor, he can see far away from there. But he had a problem because I had placed lots of potted plants there since I have no other space at the moment. So what to do? Just jump up and tear down everything, after that just look innocent when I come up to see what has happened.

He’s banned from the cottage at the moment and I won’t let him in again until tomorrow morning. That may sound hard but he won’t get inside tonight anyway, it is still too warm outside to spend a night in the cottage πŸ™‚ Nova and Sune is playing all over the cottage as well and they run around like crazy. I would have liked to ban them from the cottage as well at the moment because it will take some time to place things where they used to be before they started πŸ™‚

Can You see that rather high tree stump in the middle of the photograph? Sometimes when I pass it like this it looks like a woman in a cape with a hood πŸ™‚ I wonder if it is a Bog woman in disguise πŸ™‚

I’ve just put a SmΓ₯lΓ€ndsk cheese cake in the oven and it will soon be ready to eat πŸ™‚ Many have whipped cream on to it but I’m not a fan of that, I’ll have blackberry jam instead. That and a big cup of cold milk and I’m in heaven πŸ™‚ Our cheese cakes are a bit different from the american cheese cakes but I can’t explain how though πŸ™‚

Now it’s only four days left until I start the first fire in the stove for the season πŸ™‚ Have a great day!

The stove.

I made warm sandwiches the other day and I wanted to have curry on them. Β I know where the different jars stands so I just stretched to the spice shelf and brought down the one I wanted. I poured on quite a lot but got a bit confused when I looked at what I had done. The color wasn’t right, instead of this bright yellowish/orange color it was dark brown. I did wonder if a spice could become too old, so that it actually changed color?

But then I smelled that it had the wrong scent as well πŸ™‚ I took a look at the bottle and realized that I had poured lots of cinnamon on my sandwiches πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ :-)I tried to blow it away but it already stuck like glue πŸ™‚ I know that they very often use cinnamon in Thai food so I just poured some curry over it all and tossed it in the electric grill. It actually tasted really good πŸ™‚ So I’ll keep on having cinnamon but perhaps not that much in the future πŸ™‚

The sun comes and goes today but it is rather warm and we had some drizzle as well for a while. I won’t complain about that rain, it is my excuse to not mow any lawn today πŸ™‚ The grass is rather low to be honest so I think it can wait another week before it looks to bad πŸ™‚ Instead I finally started to repair my fire heated stove. The inside, some kind of concrete, was slowly falling apart and I needed to repair it before the season started.

The walls of the fire place has looked bad for quite some time now.

After some cleaning and then filling in concrete where it was needed it looks much better, well it isn’t a work of Leonardo da Vinci but it’s good enough πŸ™‚

This concrete doesn’t look to be the same that’s already in there but it is bought in a specialist store so it is the right thing.

I had already bought that special concrete/ cement long ago so I just mixed it together as it said on the bucket. It was totally impossible to use because it just got too dry, so I added more water, just very little and it worked perfect. It says on the bucket that I can start a fire in it after three days but only for a short while so the concrete doesn’t crack. I think I’ll wait at least a week before I use the stove, it’s better it dries a bit longer so the risk gets smaller. It was an easy job to do but that doesn’t mean I want to do it often πŸ™‚

Now I have less that 4% space left on this old blog so the move will happen soon, so here’s the address again: The Cottage by the Crane lake part two. It is time for some lunch and I think I’ll make a couple of warm sandwiches, with cinnamon and curry πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

I let Sune walk without a leash more and more now. So far so good πŸ™‚

But I do speak loud so no tempting animals are left when we walk around πŸ™‚ He’s too young to run away in the forest yet.

Suddenly we weren’t alone.

The air is finally getting some heat from the sun but it is still rather chilly. It is when the sky is cloudy one really can feel that autumn is here to stay, when the sun shines it’s easy to believe it hasn’t arrived yet. They have promised us sun all day here but they promise so much those weather men and they aren’t right especially often to be honest.

I’m used to being the only person out walking early in the mornings here so I got a bit surprised when I first heard voices out in the forest. I know our hunters are lazy ones and never gets out before nine am, so I thought it was the wind carrying them from a distance. Then suddenly I saw several cars driving on a road that cars shouldn’t drive on, tractors maybe but not cars πŸ™‚

I asked them what they were doing out here and they immediately thought I didn’t like them there πŸ™‚ But I assured them that it just was fun to see other people out here since I almost never see any. It shows they were going to make tracks and that lots of people would come later with their dogs and practice tracking πŸ™‚ Β I asked them for how long they would keep doing this because I hate it when I walk in to something and destroys it for them.

This is the bull of all bulls πŸ™‚ It had a sort of low frequency sound that wasn’t especially loud but I could feel it in my bones πŸ™‚

I suddenly remembered the leader, a rather harsh woman, from another time in another place. I did walk in to one of their practices and she was anything but happy about it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Thankfully she didn’t seem to remember me πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ They always say it’s not Your fault but it is easy to see in their eyes that they do feel it is πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I’m thinking of starting up the green house lamp I have in the cool cellar again. Even though we haven’t had frost more than twice here the nights do get cold and some of the more sensitive plants needs to be brought indoors at least during the nights. I don’t have the energy to keep bringing them in and out every day πŸ™‚ So I better get down there and start it up.

I can’t have any Gunnera manicata (a plant with leafs that can get up to over 2 meters, the same in yards, wide) in my garden but I think that the Chinese rhubarb (Rheum palmatum) is a good substitute.

There’s no idea to take a walk in the forest until the tracking is over so I better make myself a cup of tea and then place myself beside Sune on the kitchen stairs πŸ™‚

Have a great day!
