I can feel the wind towards my entire head now.

The daylight shows earlier and earlier every day now 🙂 This is around 6:30 in the morning.

I would have been sitting on my kitchen stairs drinking tea now if it wasn’t for the strong winds we’re having. It’s 5C (41F) and the sun is shining. Every now and again some clouds comes and covers it and suddenly one can feel that it isn’t that warm to be honest 🙂 But I won’t complain about the wind because it helps to dry up the ground and that is very much needed.

The wind is so strong thatbthe deers can't hear us coming.

The ice has melted where the sun reaches during the day.

But there were lots of ice left otherwise.

We’ve been out on long walks twice this morning and as soon as I move it feels like I’m boiling inside. I guess the cold I had some weeks ago hasn’t left me entirely yet. They say that we’ve reached an all time high in sick leave from work this last month. We’re having at least three different colds and one influenza going around here right now. I sure hope I won’t get any of the others, I feel I have had enough as it is 🙂 🙂 🙂

Bertil was very vigilant all the time looking at all directions.

We went down to the creek again this morning to see if the ice was gone by now, Bertil followed us as usual. But he wasn’t happy at all, he shouted almost the whole way and Nova was looking around all the time as if she expected something to run out from the forest. The other two didn’t care at all so I really have no idea what could have been out there, my guess however is wild hogs because that is a smell the two brothers are familiar with so they don’t care about it.

Trumpet swans.

I can say a lot about Bertil but I can't say that he's big 🙂

You know that little natural pond I show here sometimes, it's not that little any longer 🙂 We really don't need any more rain or snow now.

I took a look in the mirror when we came home after the walk and realized I had to do something about my hair, it was a bit to long and it has a tendency to behave as it wishes to. Not even hair gel can keep it in place, some days I look like Einstein 🙂 🙂 So I brought my raiser and shaved it off. So now I’m totally bald and most probably will need a cap in the mornings when I go to work 🙂

My snowdrops are opening up in the garden.

We passed the ruin on our second walk today.

I’ve had my pot of tea and since there’s nothing worth looking at on tv I thin I’ll take a nap.

Do anyone of You know much about orchids? I'm wondering if these two might be onicidium hybrids. The whole plants looks like that to be honest.

I really like the color of this one, it has no scent though.

Have a great day!

  1. wow, I cannot believe your ground is almost bare.Your snow will be gone.We have minus 11 celcius this morning with sunshine and a high wind and still lots of snow on the ground.I was wondering if people hiunt the wild hogs, and if they are plentiful.I have heard they are vicous and are a danger to dogs.
Hope you’re not coming down with something, I think you jumped the gun on shaving your head, there must be lots of cold weather left, you will surely have to wear a cap!

    • Hi Laurie!
It’s only ice left now so I’m pretty sure more snow will come soon again 🙂 🙂 It will be rather cold tonight they say so I’ll be wearing a cap when going out on our walks tomorrow 🙂

Yes hogs can be dangerous but only if one comes between a sow and her piglets or happens to corner them so they have no where to go, then they will attack and nothing stands a chance not even wolves. But if they can hear us early one they’ll run away long before we even get close.

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  2. Bertil does indeed look tiny, but he has an enormous personality!! Love the trumpet swan photo today. I am trying to picture your Einstein hair, lol! We received about 2-3 inches of snow overnight, nd it is very windy. A good day for staying inside near the stove.

    • Hi Robin!
Yes he is tiny, he only weighs around 5-6 pounds 🙂

🙂 You really should see me those days 🙂

I do hope we won’t get weather like that until next winter, I’m quite happy with sunshine and warm (even though a bit to strong) winds 🙂

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

      Christer.

    • Hi JoJo!

I do like that photo too 🙂 I got a couple of other as well so they might turn up later in the week if I can’t take enough photographs then.

Todsay’s orchid hybrids are usually the easiest plants there is 🙂 But is sure helps to know what it might be to care for them the best one can 🙂 I have seen similar to these but with smaller flowers or much bigger, the problem is that I don’t know what kind the other were either 🙂 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  4. I think Bertil is a Watch-Cat. Watching out for you all and screaming – Beware!
Hopefully you aren’t getting sick again! 😦
I have been feeling awful. Actually for quite a while but it’s my own fault. I eat crap all the time.
Yesterday my back started hurting and today it REALLY hurts. I’m sick of not feeling good. I MUST do something about it.
I understand about your hair. I had been growing mine out a bit (in between stage) too long to stay where it should be and too short to tie back.
I had it all straighened and smooth when I went to work last week but then after washing and blow-drying dogs it was a big curly mess.
I should just shave my head too!
    LOL!
    Take care, Cindi

    • Hi Cindi!
Perhaps he is but his shouting just attrackts every living thing around us 🙂 🙂 🙂

100 000 people are sick by the influenza right now and more will follow I think.
Back pain however gets better if You walk a a lot. It actually helps me when my artheritis starts giving me pain in my back.

You should see me early mornings when the hair stands in all directions and the face still is a bit tired 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’m not sure I look better without hair though 🙂 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

      Christer.

  6. Birds in flight often remind me of the secret paths to heaven. This was a particularly good shot today Christer. Lots of action. In fact, the wings were too fast for you but the setting in the sky is remarkable. Enjoy your bald head.

    • Hi Z&M!
I do like that photo too and have some more if I can’t take any later this week. It still gets dark rather early here.

I’m enjoying my bald head to the fullest 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  7. hi christer! i love the photos of bertil. they are always my favorites. that cat has such personality! i hope you don’t get a new cold. we had very strong winds these last two days and just a bit of snow and cold but next week we will reach 62 degrees. unreal! i guess you won’t have to worry about hair gel for a while! joyce

    • Hi Joyce!
Bertil may have the same personality as a hyena but he sure looks good on photographs 🙂 🙂 🙂

My throat is sour and hurts but no fever, I hope this is as bad as it gets this time 🙂
The nights will be cold here but we’ll reach 45F during days as highest this coming week.

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  8. I made comment on Bertil in a previous post…and Joyce, I see, has echoed my sentiments.
Thanks for stopping by and I’m glad you liked the photo of Mele. I am going to take some photo’s of my daughters dogs tomorrow…BIG dogs.
Mele is just a bit of a thing but doesn’t know she is small. Thinks she is big. REALLY big! 🙂
Bertil is the perfect cat. Independent!!

It just seems in previous years you had more snow and it lasted much, much longer. The same thing is happening here…I do hope eventually that it is recognized that the earth’s climate is really changing and at a rapid rate.

Wild hogs?? Hmmmm…aren’t they a wee dangerous?
    Ah well…enjoy your tea! 🙂
    Mona

    • Hi Mona!
It is a very nice photo of Mele and small dogs always belive they are big as saint bernards 🙂 🙂 🙂

Yes we had much more snow the two previous years here but it isn’t unusual that we’re having winters with very little snow. But usually it’s much colder than this winter.

Wild hogs are only dangerous if surprised or cornered. Well if they are hit by a car never go out to see if it is alive, if it is it will try to kill 🙂 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day!
      Christer.
