The monarchy is dissolving!

Well at least says one more or less fanatic royalist that today, a here in Sweden very well know reporter and historian. He also says that this might help those wanting a republic! So why does he say like this You may ask? Well the new princess names were according to him not royal enough, in fact he said her first name sounds like a nightclub queen 🙂 🙂 🙂

So what are these horrible m´names then You may ask 🙂 They are as follows: Estelle, Silvia, Ewa and Mary. Horrible don’t You think 🙂 🙂 🙂 There has only been one Estelle before, an american that was married to a relative. I can almost hear how contemptuous he must have sounded when he said american, You have never had any royalties and that is a huge minus 🙂 🙂 Also he loves France above all so everything else is less good and I guess that includes Sweden since he prefers not to live here 🙂 🙂 🙂

Hector's foot print.

Ewa comes from her grandmother on her father’s side, that wasn’t to his liking either. Silvia is from her grandmother on her mother’s side, our queen. He didn’t dare say anything about that 🙂 🙂 🙂 He didn’t like Mary either, he thought they should have used the swedish form Maria instead. So now he says the monarchy is dissolving and that these names only will help the republicans to become more?!

However, it seems that the swedish people likes the names very much. I think they are very nice and I’m glad they didn’t give her any of the old mouldy royal names he had expected them to give her. Those names would only mad her a victim of bullying. Royal fanatics (well it goes for any kind of fanaticism) only loves the royals as long as the royals do as the fanatics think is right. If they do anything else they will be sent to hell 🙂 🙂 🙂

It has been a very nice day here with sunshine most of the day. 6C (43F) but the wind is rather strong. I don’t mind it though, it helps drying up the ground and the roads 🙂 I’ll watch the news later because they will most likely have an interview with this fanatic royalist and I really don’t want to miss when he’s making a fool of him self 🙂 🙂 🙂

Have a great day!

  1. wow, I never knew so much would ride on the proper name. They all sound lovely to me, you really are losing your snow, looks like spring!
Now thats a classy cat strutting down the road! He looks like he means business!

    • Hi Laurie!
To be honest, this is just absurd 🙂 🙂 Another historian said he like the names and there are no rules about what names the child gets. But fanatics never see things like others do I’m afraid. It seems like over 80% of us likes the names and that is what is important!

It is so warm and nice now and I’m enjoying every second of it, I never know when it turns again 🙂 🙂 🙂

Teodor just wanted to get inside the cottage and get some food, after that he ran out again 🙂

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  2. What a snooty man. He should go back to France and stay there. All the names sound lovely.

Your snow is all gone and everything is turning quite green already. Of course no one can predict what old man winter will give you. 🙂

    • Hi JoJo!
Yes he is 🙂 But I don’t think he’ll open his mouth for quite some time now, he’s been heavily criticized everywhere now 🙂 🙂 🙂 I like all the names and can’t see what’s wrong with any of them.

Yes all snow is gone 🙂 and the closer we come to April the less is the risk we’ll get more of it 🙂

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  3. Look at the tail on that tiger cat! What happened to Victoria? Did that name not even make the top ten? I like Mary, the others sound too mundane. But you’re right, other than Saint Ronnie, we’ve never had Royalty and probably would have shot them if we had. We have the Republican Party which is a Royal Pain in the Ass if that counts. I’m not getting any news over here. Send me a link if you have one that is in English. Enjoy your weekend.

    • Hi Z&M!
Teodor is a nice fat cat 🙂
Well her mother’s name (our coming queen) is Victoria so I don’t think they even comcidered that name. But these names only sounds mundane because we’ve never had names like this on royals, They will be nothing but when she is grown up and we’ve heard it more often.

But having a royal pain in the ass is at least almost royal 🙂 🙂 🙂

I’ll see if I can find any news in english for You.

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  4. Hi Christer, such a dilemna on choosing the correct name. Perhaps they should have let the people decide? eodor looks like he was in a hurry to get in for a meal. Although I do miss the snow scenes, the forst does look lovely beginning to show more greenery. ENjoy your weekend and the warmer temps!

    • Hi Beatrice!
I think we all should be happy that they didn’t let the people decide any names 🙂 🙂 🙂 I think these names are great and I do like that they didn’t chose any of the more common royal names they otherwise could have.

Teodor is always hungry 🙂 and I just don’t know where he gets all food because he is becoming rather fat now. I guess he get food from the neighbouring farm, they feed any cat that comes to them. Very good for ferals not so good for him and his health.

I’m so glad I can’t show any snow photos 🙂

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  5. Hi Christer,
Now I am prompted to ask what the mouldy old names would have been. All those sound fairly old fashioned to me. Queen Estelle doesn’t have much of grand ring to it. I suppose that is because it is an American name. No royalist sentiments over here. Well, none that are recognized as such anyway. 🙂

It’s so nice when public personalities open their mouths and reveal themselves to be the pompous twits we always suspected they were.

Congrats to the royal family and blessings on little Princess Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary. Being Queen isn’t all it’s cracked up to be still, I wouldn’t mind having some of their household staff.

    Enjoy the day!

    • Hi Caryn!
I’ll start with saying that there’s nothing wrong with the names in them selves but they tend to turn up for every child even close to be a royalty 🙂 Names like Ingrid, Märta, Ulrika (sometimes connected with the name Eleonora), Christina, Desire and so on. It’s so nice with someone in that family that doesn’t have any of those names 🙂

But people after us will think that Estelle is a very royal name 🙂 I later found out that the name origines from France and means something like little star, I wonder why he didn’t like that name if it actually comes from France 🙂 🙂

He is a pompous ass to be honest 🙂 But he has a great ability to tell our history so that all people suddenly likes to listen about old kings and queens 🙂 and it is much because of him history has become popular again over here. But he’s still a pompous ass 🙂 🙂 🙂

I wouldn’t want to change life with any of the royalties. They are watched every single second of the day and they can’t even fart without it getting in the papers 🙂 🙂 🙂 I would however gladely have some of the money they have 🙂 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

      • Ulrike sounds very exotic to my American ears. Desire, on the other hand, would raise some eyebrows over here. I still remember the tut-tutting when we found out that the Clinton’s child was named Chelsea. So 70’s counter culture, really. 😀 😀 😀

      • Hi Caryn!
Yes Desire would sound strange in english 🙂 🙂 🙂 Queen Desire of Sweden, sounds like a bad name on a porno 🙂 🙂 🙂

I did think that Chelsea was an odd name 🙂 Is it inspired from Chelsea Hotel perhaps?

        Have a great day!
        Christer.

      Christer.

  7. I think the whole name thing is kinda silly….but I do think long and hard before picking a name for any of my pets!
    Now THAT is important business! 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

    • Hi Cindi!
It is! Naturally they must be allowed to pick whatever name they want to!

A pets name must feel right already from the beginning so yes that is important business 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  8. What a cute photo of Teodor! But…I have to say that Bertil is my very favorite of the cats. 🙂 I have to go back to the top to finish my comments…

    • Hi Mona!
It’s always the bad ones that are liked in all stories so I’m not surprised You all like Bertil 🙂 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day!
      Christer.
