Nova at work.

This is how the Super Nova looked every time anyone came to visit her 🙂

I´ve discovered what a great actress Nova is 🙂 She followed me to work as planned and I had her in the office just beside where I work so she could see me all the time. I had hoped she would fall asleep rather soon but I can tell You that she is a stubborn little lady 🙂

But she turned back to normal as soon as they had left 🙂

She sat there looking at everything happening around her and suddenly I saw that her eyes were closed and her head started to nod every few seconds 🙂 So I told her to lay down but she just refused 🙂 🙂

There is an old forgotten garden beside the factory (I think they once bought it when they were thinking of expanding the factory) where Nova and I can walk on my breaks. The withered plants on the right side bottom are rhubarbs.

She was in a happy mood all the time but every time anyone had an excuse to get in to my department to see her, her ears dropped and the tail went in between her legs 🙂 🙂 🙂 Lots of people that seldom comes in to us had to stop and talk to her for a minute or two 🙂 🙂

I love sitting here in the summer. I found lots of seeds on the rhubarb plants so I brought some home with me. I hope at least some of them will germinate because I have no rhubarbs in my garden and if I don´t have that I can´t make any rhubarb pie 🙂

We didn´t take any walk when we came home because it had started to rain and I really don´t want any dirt to get in to the wound. My boys didn´t seem to complain about it either, they are both sleeping in my bed right now 🙂 I didn´t bring my camera with me so the photographs are taken with my mobile phone. Now it´s time for something to eat and a pot of tea too of course 🙂                                                                                                                   Have a great day now!

I found this photograph in my mobile too 🙂

  1. Nova is a great little actress, and it is sweet that everyone wanted to come say hi to her. She looks pretty good out in the factory garden, investigating everything while enduring the cone. Hope the rest of the recover goes as well. And good luck to you getting your sleep, and not worrying about kicking Nova. Love the last photo of your Terrific Trio, very very nice.

    • Hi Robin!
She´s up for an Academy Award next year 🙂 🙂

I had to have an eye on her every second, because she started to follow a vole track that continued out in to a fields just beside the garden 🙂

Tonight I´ll sleep like a baby again 🙂

      Have a great day now!

  3. I was thinking about Nova this morning as I got ready for work. Wondering how she’d fare on her own at home. How WONDERFUL you are able to take her to work with you!!!! =) I am fortunate to also have a boss who will allow me to bring in a dog when necessary. Funny that she tries to play on everyone’s sympathy. Clever girl. I’m sure her goal is to find someone willing to remove the cone …. hahaha.
Even with your mobile you take great photos!! =) Hugs to the healing Nova and the rest of your critters.

    • Hi Jennifer!
She will follow me to work tomorrow also, but has to stay home from Monday. By then the wound have started the healing process properly. She will most probably trash my home 🙂 🙂 🙂

Yes she is a clever girl 🙂 and would most probably have been successful if I haven´t been close all the time 🙂 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day now!

      • Hi Caryn!
Yes they certainly does 🙂 🙂 I´m pretty certain that she will have destroyed my cottage when she has to stay at home on monday 🙂 🙂 🙂

        Have a great day!

  4. Definitely a Nova Diva! Clever, clever, lady… Yes, you are very lucky that you can bring her with you to work. So much better for all of you. Enjoy your tea, and hugs to all the pet family…

    • Hi Sharlene!
She is a great and smart actress that little dog 🙂

I´m glad that I can bring her with me and I would most probably be allowed to bring her next week too, but we sort of slowed down in our work while looking at her or talking to her 🙂 🙂 🙂 So I´ll have her at home on Monday and if things works I´ll keep her at home, otherwise I´ll have a chat with the owner again.

      Have a great day now!

  5. Hon är inte dum inte, Nova! Hon vet tydligen precis hur hon ska göra för att få allas sympati!!
Min vänninas tax Lucas var specialist på att spela sjuk. Frågade man; Hur mår du då lilla gubben?

  6. Hi Chister
You have to designate your dog Nova to the Oscar evening in march 2012, or cannes festival in may 2011 : I’m sure she will have the first place!
    Buona serata

    • Hi Adriana!
      I´m thinking of the Oscar´s evening 🙂 🙂 🙂 I´ve always wanted one of those statues at home 🙂 🙂 🙂 She is a natural 🙂

      Have a great evening!

  7. She looks sad in these photos and rediculous with that helmet tied around her sweet neck. When does that damn thing come off? Last photo is of which group of dogs, old breed or group shot with Nova? I can’t tell. The storms here are like little hurricanes and my first acre of land goes to the main street is completely covered with dead limbs. Actually we got a little scared today with the lightening strikes too. I had to drop papers off in town so instead learned how to copy them to a pdf and never left my home office. Yay for me!

    • Hi Z&M!
She´s just looking for sympathy. As soon as she thinks no one sees her ears goes up and the tail also 🙂 🙂 🙂 I´m actually amazed that she got back to normal thai quick! She has to wear that collar for fourteen days, but I´m allowed to take it of short times on the tenth day.

So the weather is that bad! I do hope it´ll change for the better soon! But Yay for You that learned how to copy those papers to a pdf!

      Have a great day now!

  8. Hi Christer,
Nova knows how to be smart 🙂 She knows she will win affection from everyone.
    I hope she recovers soon.
Christer you do not know that I got into trouble. When leaving the house today for the garage because I was biking … I found three small dogs puppy! Somebody put the puppies in our garage to get rid of them. And of course I would not leave them there in the sun and hungry … I’m with 3 in my bathroom! I’m looking for whom the shelter but is not easy … protective associations are packed with animals … I have no idea how long it will take to get home to them … ohh my God!
They are so cute 🙂 One is all black with white on the chest, like Hector.
    kisses for all ….
ohhh my God … me and neurotico cat and 3 dogs … wish me luck!

    • Hi Didi!
      Yes she´s a smart little lady 🙂 🙂

It´s a shame You don´t live closer to me, because I could have had them until any rescue centre could take them. I´m pretty sure that the person that left those puppies in Your garage knew You would take care of them ( and I´m glad You did!). How old do You think they are? Luckily enough puppies usually have a better chance to find a new home rather fast. Have You put a photograph on Face Book so I can see them? Please do so otherwise 🙂 They are so far away that there´s no risk I´ll take one myself 🙂 🙂 🙂
But even neurotic cats can learn to love a dog, perhaps You should keep one 🙂 🙂

Have a great day and good luck with the puppies!

      Have a great day now!

  9. Oh my, she really does know how to act, doesn’t she? I have never seen it captured so well before. She looks to be doing well, though, and hopefully, within a week or two, she will be back to normal. Please hug her for me.

    • Hi Nancy!
She´s up for an Academy Award next year 🙂 🙂

She´s already back to her old self I´m afraid 🙂 🙂 I had to stop her from running around and digging today and she didn´t like that at all 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day now!

  10. well, nova still continues to take over the group. she is now gathering sympathy from everyone. she is actually a lot like my mother in law. except she is thinner, younger, much better looking and i am sure much nicer! joyce

    • Hi Joyce!
She´s back to normal but she hasn´t shown her aggressive side yet though 🙂

I´ve always been lucky with mother in laws 🙂 but I have an aunt that is much like Your mother in law 🙂 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day now!

  11. I’m glad Nova made it on her field trip without any trouble.

Funny how animals can find a way to get sympathy from folks! Pretty smart, I’d say!

    • Hi Jim!
She got it rather quick how to get peoples attention 🙂 🙂

She´s already back to normal and I´m surprised how fast it happened!

      Have a great day now!

  12. Hi Christer, I had some catching up to do tonight and glad to read about and see Nova’s progress after the surgery. How long will she have to wear the collar? I’m sure you will be posting about any changes in her behavior as time goes on. It’s nice that you are allowed to bring her to work with you. That would be unheard of in all the places I ever worked in. Yes, I know what you mean about the Internet connection going up and down as it happens to me quite a lot at times. So now I am typing fast just in case I lose it. Enjoy your weekend!

    • Hi Beatrice!
She must have the collar for fourteen days, but I´m allowed to remove it short periods of time from the tenth day. The owner do understand that we have to do special arrangements sometimes. I´m pretty sure I could have her with me all fourteen days if I asked, but we tend to be more with Nova than we work 🙂 🙂 So unless she doesn´t get an infection she´ll stay at home in the cottage next week.

My internet connection seems to have calmed down at the moment, but no one knows for how long that will last 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day now!

  13. Christer, Nova looks so small. At home she seems larger, smaller then the boys of course, but not as small as she appears in those photo’s taken in the office.
I think…she refused to lay down or go to sleep because she was anxious about perhaps being left there..waking up and finding you gone. That makes perfect sense to me..poor little girl. It’s terrible when you are terribly sleepy and afraid to sleep…you know?
    Mona 🙂

    • Hi Mona!
In my eyes she´s tiny 🙂 🙂 But then again, I see my old boys as small dogs too and they do weigh around 99 pounds 🙂 🙂

That might be the truth about her not wanting to lay down, she was tossed around between drug addicts the twelve first months of her life if I know things right. But I told her that there´s no chance for her escaping from this family now, wether she wants it or not, because she has costed me far to much money to let her go anywhere else 🙂 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day now!

  14. p.s. Nothing of great importance taking place on my blog anyway…I did do some photo’s of the yard and flowers today. It was 96 degree’s yesterday and 90 at 5pm today! I am hoping it is cooler for the garage sales tomorrow…I hope, I hope… 🙂 Anyway…you aren’t missing much! 🙂

    • Hi Mona!
I´ve actually left a comment in Your blog yesterday 🙂 It looks like summer to me 🙂 and the temperature is very much summer for me too 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day!
