Super Nova.

So up we got and off we went to fetch my friend that was going to show us the way to Nova.  I had no idea how big the lady is because I had only seen the same photos I showed You too.  I didn´t know especially much about her to be honest, but today I got to know some more.

She had been living with drug addicts and mostly down in a cellar where they amongst other things had beaten her with a vacuum cleaner hose. I didn´t want to know more to be honest. The previous owners (or perhaps current owners is better to write, she´s not mine yet 🙂 ) have had her for six months and they had done a miracle job with her. Out of the car jumped a happy, healthy one year old dog.

I got a bit surprised when I saw her. She does look very much like old Erna did, but she´s just half the size 🙂 🙂 🙂 We had driven to a football field so that my boys and she could run around like they wanted. They greeted happily but after that my boys mostly were interested in what I was doing and she what her owners were doing. Until we started to throw a ball.

The animal rescue centre is placed in the first red little house. There they have mostly cats and other smaller animals. Dogs are usually placed in emergency homes instead.

We had been out half the day when we finally came home and could take a little walk.

Now that was the big test! Both Orvar and Hector are rather competitive when it comes to that and seldom gives the other one a chance to keep the ball if the other one has it 🙂 🙂 🙂 They never fight but uses every dirty trick they know 🙂 🙂 Everything worked great! She kept the ball if she got there first and Hector even dropped the ball after a while so that she could take it. But I have to say that none of them remembered to bring the ball to us so that we could throw it again 🙂 🙂

Driving around with the head of an animal rescue shelter means stops on the way. In here they had found some kittens that they tried to catch in a trap. Well kittens are smart so when a couple had been caught the others kept away. So we left some milk for the remaining ones to drink.

So I´ll stop working early next Friday so I can drive to where she lives now and bring her home to me and my boys. I´m pretty sure she will be the ruler of the house that same evening 🙂                                                                                                                                             Have a great day now!

  1. What can I say? Nova is beautiful, happy and looks to be a very good addition to your family. It was a joy to see her running with the ball, and your descriptions of the three of them playing makes me smile! Nova is a lucky girl to find such a great home!!! I love her face, too!

P.The frosted angelica picture is perfect!

    • Hi Robin!
She is beautiful but I did get very surprised when I saw how small she is 🙂 🙂 She looks much bigger when seeing her in a photograph 🙂

The Angelica photo is one of those I like best today. I do like the one with the barn door too.

      Have a great day now!
      Christer.

      Christer.

  3. She’s so beautiful and has such long legs. She will be a great addition to your family. Now to see how Bertil and Teodor react to her. 🙂

Wait! Dogs are supposed to return the ball when you throw it?

I’m very pleased with myself that I recognized that frozen angelica blossom.

    Have a great day.

    • Hi Caryn!
She does look much bigger on a photograph than she really is. I guess she is half as big as my boys 🙂 But she will rule shortly after she has moved here 🙂 🙂 🙂

Yes they are supposed to do that even if my boys rarely remembers that 🙂 🙂 🙂

🙂 It can be hard to recognize a flower long after it has died 🙂

      Have a great day now!
      Christer.

    • Hi Oldfool!
I met a dog today that had the same face as my first dog. I just couldn´t but love that dog 🙂
I do hope that the last thing going away from my memories are my dogs 🙂

      Have a great day now!
      Christer.

      Christer.

    • Hi Kat!
I think so too 🙂 But the snow crust was so hard and sharp that Nova cut one of her toes and started to bleed. But she didn´t care at all 🙂

      Have a great day now!
      Christer.

  5. Hallo Christer
I’m sure you will have love and gratefulness from Nova from here to eternity !
I ve some experience of bad dressed animals ( and in particular dogs dressed to fight ) : when they feel love in their boss and in animals of the house, they are ready to do anything and they give love , really. You ‘ll see.
    Warmly Adri

    • Hi Adriana!
She is a great little dog and it´s a bit sad that the current owners can´t keep her. But their loss is our winning 🙂

Yes I have had that experience too and I just can´t understand how those people thinks!
I do believe that she will feel right at home here 🙂

      Have a great day now!
      Christer.

  6. hi christer! i am so excited! nova is beautiful and looks so happy and lively. i bet the boys fall right back into the place they were with old erna. it is great you will all have a woman back in the house. nova looks like she has lots of energy too. this will be so much fun to watch nova fitting in with your family! joyce

    • Hi Joyce!
She really is a beautiful dog! She has gained almost ten pounds since she came to this couple she lives with now. She was a wreak when she came to them. It´s hard to believe when one looks at these photos and having met her 🙂 But she still gets worried when she hears strong sounds and when the vacuum cleaner is used. So I think I´ll have to have them all outside when I need to clean the house. Or perhaps I should stop cleaning 🙂 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day now!
      Christer.

  7. Hi Christer!
I’m so happy! The girl has already won the hearts of men!
She is beautiful! Lovely and very agile, will give a tiredness in boys.
A work that softens my heart is the animal rescue.
It is perfect when one of these animals find a home like yours:)
Soon you will be one big happy family 🙂
    Congratulations!

    • Hi Didi!
Yes it seems she has 🙂
Finally Hector has met his match 🙂 He can go on forever even long after his brother is out of energy 🙂

I feel the same about animal rescue work. But it is hard work and they always have to little money. How they can make it every year is something I can´t understand.

      Have a great day now!
      Christer.

    • Hi Liz!
I´m glad that we found a friend for my boys without having to even look for one 🙂 🙂 They called me from the shelter 🙂

She´ll move here next Friday 🙂

      Have a great day now!
      Christer.

  8. She’s beautiful! And, the boys will have a great playmate and so many scents and places to show her when she comes home! A very lucky little lady, that’s for sure. And, just for the record, you cannot give up cleaning so you must come up with a different plan… letting them out to play during cleaning is a good start…

    • Hi Sharlene!
I do hope everything will work out great after her move to us!

I thought it was a great idea to give up cleaning! So much more time to spend with my dogs then 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day now!
      Christer.

  9. Wow! you can just see how happy and carefree she is! Looks like she loves to play!
I’m so happy for her, that she is going to go to a home were she will have love, and friendship and get to explore the forest with you and your boys! It looks like a perfect fit!
    🙂 – Cindi

    • Hi Cindi!
Yes the current owners have done a great job with her! She loves running and playing as much as my boys do, perhaps even more 🙂

It´s really to bad that she has to move, but when their grandchildren became allergic towards little Nova they really had to find a new home for her.

      Have a great day now!
      Christer.

  10. Looks like a race horse. She will be out and about like the other two and love her new home I’m quite sure. Congratulations! It’s a wonderful looking breed and so sorry to read she was mistreated. Happens all over the world and I often thought it was only here in the U.S. Enjoy your new friend.

    • Hi Z&M!
She does look like a race horse in many ways 🙂 🙂 and I hope the time I will have to have her in a leash will be very short!

Yes it does unfortunately happen all over the world and she got lucky to come to her current owners! They have made her into a happy and secure dog 🙂

      Have a great day now!
      Christer.

  11. Hi Christer ! I just found your new blog ! which I guess is not very new for you any more but I had been without computer since oct. and had no idea you moved !
what a beautiful post I arrived to read ☺
I am so happy for you and for your new roomy Nova !
when I went two yrs agop to ick out a dog for my ds when we got there I knew it was a crack house I took 2 dogs instead of one . I wanted to rescue all 8 puppies but couldn’t so I called the animal protective services .I hope they rescued them .
Oh joy that your new friend will have places to roam ☺

I am glad to have found you

    • Hi Rox!
I think it was in October I moved too 🙂 I lost a lot of addresses when I changed browser to Safari too, so I haven´t been able to find You all again. I just found one of the old blogs I read the other day. Now I have Your address again too 🙂

Sometimes I wish we could stop drug addicts from having any kind of pets, but I guess that would be impossible. Some of them actually do care for their animals a lot and it´s that care that keeps them from falling to far down in the addiction swamp. But most of them just doesn´t care about the animals, abuses them and see them as a source of income when they can sell puppies.

I do hope she will feel at home here rather fast! But she does live in a great home at the moment so it might take a bit longer.

      Have a great day now!
      Christer.

    • Hi Perovskia!
I do hope so. But I´m more worried that the brothers might start fighting with each other now when a little girls is coming. So cross Your fingesr for good luck!

      Have a great day now!
      Christer.
