Not much of a blog today.

Sorry but I have to move around 1500 kg (3307 pound) of fire/heat logs now before the temperature drops to much and it will become completely dark outside. The light-bulb above the garage doors is broken so I can´t see where I´m going then and the light-bulb in the wood shed sits way to far in to the shed that it really doesn´t help at all 🙂 🙂

We had frost and fog this morning and I have to say that it isn´t a good combination at all 🙂 The ice on the car windows was almost impossible to remove and the roads were very slippery at times. Now You may wonder why I don´t put the car in the garage and my only answer to that is MICE!

It´s time to get those logs in to the wood shed now! After that it´ll be a hot cup of tea and then relaxation for the rest of the evening 🙂

Have a great day now!

    • Hi Woody!
It´s already frost outside so it will be a very cold night I´m afraid! But all fire logs are in the wood shed now except for those I have taken in to the cottage to have in the stove tonight 🙂

      Have a great day now!
      Olof.

  1. You can get the logs in but shouldn’t the dogs be earning their living by taking care of those mice? I know. I know. Cats. Mice. But, dogs are pretty good at routing them out, too… Once you’ve put the logs away, had your tea, and warmed up, you can begin training…

    • Hi Sharlene!
My dogs are useless as rat/mice hunters 🙂 They even allowed a rat to get inside the cottage two years ago 🙂 🙂 🙂 It was their mother that was the great hunter in the family. But Bertil is a good mice hunter! Sometimes I let the cats in to the garage and wood shed so they can scare those rodents away for a couple of days 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day now!
      Christer.

  2. I’m loving the larger photos on this blog! So much nicer! The dark ones with yesterday’s post are so eerie…

Oh no, I wouldn’t want mice in my car, oh no no no! We do have one mouse (hopefully just one, but is there ever just one?) in our garage. It likes the bird seed stored in there.

It would be very interesting if you could put one of those weather widgets on this blog. I’m enjoying watching your seasons change….

    Peace,
    Chris………….

    • Hi Chris!
It´s a really positive thing that I van make the photos big already in the blog, especially those days when I really have nothing to say 🙂 🙂

I wish I could get rid of those mice in my garage, but they seem to be rather many. My last car showed many signs that mice had bee all over it 🙂

If I only know how to get things on the side bar at all I cold find one of those weather things to put there 🙂 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day now!
      Christer.

  3. Christer, today’s photos looked much warmer with the autumn colors – not at all like the darkness in the previous post with the fog and frost that really made me think of winter weather – not a pleasant thought. The temperature is very warm back home as much as 20 degrees hotter than on our road trip in Maine. I do enjoy cooler temps, but not so early. Maybe a couple of cats would take care of those mice?

    • Hi Beatrice!
I really don´t want to think about winter weather, but I do all the time 🙂 Especially since I ordered that pallet with fire logs. But now I´m prepared 🙂

Frost and fog here every morning now and it will continue so for some time they say. But this i almost normal temps here by now.

      Enjoy Your trip!
      Christer.

  4. The cats should have that garage guarded and cleaned of mice and rats at all times. Stop their payday and see if things don’t improve. Seriously. Cats never miss their target when they are hungry. And I do so love these photos! Great country life. It calls to me. Enjoy your logs.

    • Hi Z&M!
Like all cats in the neighborhood they would only go to the neighboring farm to eat there 🙂 🙂 🙂 They do already 🙂 But Bertil is a good hunter when it comes to mice, Teodor however could improve a lot 🙂 🙂

I´m enjoying those logs every night now 🙂
      Have a great day now!

  5. Hi Christer,
You need a Jack Russell Terrier. No more rats or mice or probably cats either unless you are very good about training. 🙂
Have you tried tying a blanket across your car windows at night? It keeps the frost off the glass and you won’t have such a hard time in the morning. I believe they sell some kind of cover that has magnets on it just for that purpose.
I like the second photo best today. It’s a bit blue but that little tree glowing in the center of all the darkness is lovely.
    Have a great day.

    • Hi Caryn!
Yes a Jack Russel would chase those mice out of the garage in a minute or two 🙂

I tried that once and regretted it when I tried to remove it 🙂 🙂 It was stuck against the window by the ice 🙂 I think we have to high humidity in the air with all fog:-)

That´s my favorite photo too 🙂

      Have a great day now!
      Christer.

      • The Jack Russells would not chase the mice out in a minute or two; the Jack Russells would kill them all in a minute or two. It’s what they do best though it is difficult to watch for us tender-hearted folks. Still, my little Jack was one of the best and I miss her.

      • Hi Caryn!
That´s true! They are formidable mice killers! That would be ok with me as long as the dog doesn´t lick in my face afterwards 🙂 🙂 🙂

        Have a great day now!
        Christer.

  6. I’m lovin’ your BIG pictures! They are just wonderful. Snow will be coming soon?
I love seeing the dogs up close…every leaf…it’s great! Next best thing to living in a place like that is at least seeing it…
    Take care, Christer..

    • Hi Mona!
I think it´s great that World Press allows me to have these big photos! So much easier to not have to click on each and every photo for everyone 🙂

I feel much the same! So many place I will never visit, still I feel like I´ve been there after seeing all photographs here in our blogs 🙂
      Have a great day now!
      Christer.

    • Teodor is, I can´t say otherwise 🙂 🙂 But it isn´t my fault actually! He walks up to the farm next door and gets freshly milked milk from them 🙂 Bertil however is so tiny! He weighs only four pound 🙂

      Take care!
      Christer.

      Christer.

  8. I love how your dogs coats look like black velvet! Wonderful photos!
I will bundle up my little Ralphie (He’s part Jack Russell…he’s the one that likes sitting IN the tree) and ship him over to you! He’ll clean out that garage in no time!
(I love him but seriously, there are days when I could take a break from him! LOL!)

    • Hi Cindi!
Terriers are fantastic mice hunters! But after seeing him climbing trees I think he would be a great bird hunter too 🙂 🙂 🙂
Perhaps I should get me a terrier next time 🙂

      Have a great day now!
      Christer.

  9. Autumn has really come on strong here in Nebraska, USA. The daytime temps are still really warm but the nights are sure getting cold! I hope we have a long, warm fall! Have a great day!

    • Hi Kristina!
Temperatures has dropped during the day too here. It feels like winter is approaching but I do hope it will keep away for many weeks more.

      Have a great day too!
      Christer.
